Royal Caribbean International celebrated the historic first-ever float out of the Legend of the Seas at the Myer Turku shipyard in Finland, where she will continue to take shape ahead of her inaugural sailing in summer 2026.
Legend of the Seas underwent an overnight water-filling process which took nearly 12 hours before she floated over to the outfitting dock, marking another monumental milestone for the globally-acclaimed cruise line.
For her maiden voyage, this all-new ship will embark on a summer cruise in Europe on a 7-night Western Mediterranean journey. This will be followed by a series of Caribbean cruises in November 2026, as she sets sail on 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean getaways. These unmissable Caribbean escapes include a bucket-list chance to visit Royal Caribbean’s very own Perfect Day at Cococay, one of the private island destinations owned by a cruise line in the Bahamas.
This game-changing legend is the third Icon-class vessel in the making, built on the success of her ground-breaking predecessors, Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas. Like her sister ships, she will boast a sophisticated bow-to-stern design and deliver unlimited ways to chill and thrill across the eight distinct themed districts.
Among the iconic stand-out features to look out for on board this next-generation ship is the Category 6, priding itself as the largest waterpark at sea! More adrenaline-pumping experiences await at Crown’s Edge, offering a mix of skyway, ropes course and controlled free fall at 154 feet above the ocean. Guests can also expect the return of fleet favourites, such as the FlowRider surf simulator and the family-friendly Splashaway Bay.
Also premiering aboard Legend are non-stop deck-defying entertainment venues, including the state-of-the-art AquaTheatre with a 55-foot-tall waterfall and Absolute Zero, an immersive ice skating arena.
