Private Islands Owned by Cruise Lines

Q: How to get around?

Great Stirrup Cay: Starting late 2025, the private island now welcomes guests through a newly-built multi-ship pier, allowing ships to dock directly at the quay without the need to use tender boats. Guests can conveniently walk or use the tram services to explore the island. Perfect Day at Cococay: From the pier, guests can reach the arrivals centre in roughly 6 minutes on foot. There is also a complimentary pier tram that goes around the island for hassle-free transfers. Ocean Cay – MSC Marine Reserve: MSC ships dock directly at the quay. From the pier, guests can easily walk or take the electric tram service to the island. The island only spans 95 acres, making it easy to explore on foot. Great Stirrup Cay — Norwegian Cruise Line

Great Stirrup Cay is a private island in the Bahamas, owned and operated by cruise giant Norwegian Cruise Line. This 270-acre tropical oasis was formerly uninhabited until it was transformed into a private cruise port, welcoming guests of NCL for an escape to The Great Life!

At present, this secluded paradise hosts an automated lighthouse, zipline, turquoise waters, sandy beaches and lush coconut plantation. After chasing adventure under the sun, guests can refuel in the several dining venues serving a variety of options from Mexican-style food to Caribbean-themed delights!

Following the recent multi-phase revamp, the exclusive retreat introduces all-new experiences and onboard favourites, including the new Great Life Lagoon, a new welcome centre and pier and adults-only Vibe Shore Club. Guests can also look forward to the nearly six-acre Great Tides Waterpark, a new mini-aquatic racecourse with jet karts and so much more in 2026…

Perfect Day at Cococay — Royal Caribbean International

Set in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at Cococay is a Royal Caribbean-owned award-winning paradise – offering a blend of high-end resort-like experiences and absolute exclusivity vibes! This game-changing getaway beckons guests with larger-than-life thrills and never-seen-before adventures, including the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean and the tallest waterslide in North America.

Guests can max out the memories in an array of complimentary restaurants and attractions in this exclusive hideaway! Savour American classics at Skipper’s Grill, indulge in beachside BBQ at Chill Grill and grab tasty convenient bites at snack shack! There are also plenty of beaches for non-stop water fun, from the action-packed Chill Island to the laid-back Cove Beach!

Looking for more ways to elevate your island experience? Enjoy the island sights and scenery from above on a helium balloon and zoom across the island on an exhilarating zipline ride. Or, how about retreating to an ultra-exclusive sanctuary at Coco Beach Club and the adults-only Hideaway Beach?

Ocean Cay — MSC Marine Reserve

MSC Cruises takes great pride in its very own sustainable Marine Reserve – Ocean Cay! Spanning roughly 65 acres, this tranquil slice of paradise is part of the Bimini chain of islands in the Bahamas, just approximately 65 miles away from Miami, Florida.

Compared to neighboring private islands with bolder ways to thrill, Ocean Cay presents itself as a peaceful and indulgent escape away from the hustle and bustle without parting with the comforts of a luxury resort.

This private destination is home to eight powdery-white sand beaches, such as the Sunset Beach perfect for stunning sunset viewing, North and South Beaches for adrenaline-pumping water activities, and the serene Paradise Sand Beach! When it’s time to refuel, guests can enjoy an expanded dining choices, from the American classics at Seakers Foodcourt to sweet treats at The Smiling Fish.
