Generally, the best time to visit Estonia is during the summer for pleasant warm temperatures and long daylight hours, ideal for outdoor activities and beach escapes.  Summers in Estonia last relatively briefly from June to August. If you want to enjoy the Christmas markets, you can book between late November and early January.

Estonian is the official language of Estonia and some locals also speak Russian and English. Whilst English is widely spoken in the country, it will be helpful to learn a few Estonian words and phrases, such as “Tere” (Hello) and “Aitäh” or Tänan (Thank you).

Estonia has an efficient public transportation system, with an extensive network of intercity buses and trains connecting the major cities and some islands. Buses and trams are a reliable mode of transportation in Tallinn, allowing you to enjoy the sights at a leisurely pace. Tallinn Old town can easily be explored on foot or on a bicycle.
