Explora Journeys Welcomes their First LNG-powered Explora III, Ready For Her Summer Debut

Explora and Fincantieri celebrated the official delivery with a traditional handover ceremony. Alongside the key corporate executives and the shipbuilding workforce, local government dignitaries and special guests were also present during the momentous occasion. 

The famous Italian dance crew, Urban Theory, also graced the festivity with a dance performance, followed by the traditional tribute parade of the manpower behind the ship’s craftsmanship. 

After the ship’s blessing, Maya Aponte, the ship’s godmother for maritime delivery and flag-changing ceremony concluded the celebration with ribbon-cutting and the time-honoured tradition of breaking a champagne bottle against the hull of the ship.

Following the exclusive Mediterranean prelude journey, the official naming and christening ceremony for Explora III is taking place in Barcelona, Spain. The acclaimed marine educator and dive trainer Cristina Ozores is the ship’s appointed Godmother. As a recognised voice for marine conservation and education, Ozores is the perfect embodiment of the brand’s vision to champion ocean literacy and community engagement.

The all-new, cutting-edge Explora III sets a golden standard in the World of Cruising with a modern luxury approach and wellness-focused indulgence. She is pushing the limits of imagination with a slightly larger space compared to sister ships, Explora I and Explora II. Extended by 19.2 metres, this innovative vessel boasts the highest ratio of total public space per guest in the fleet.
