      As well as offering beaches in abundance, Ocean Cay offers a range of guided excursions operated by MSC Cruises. Enjoy thrilling watersports, relaxing boat trips, nighttime stargazing, sunset cruises and more. Shore experiences last between 1 and 2 hours, except for the lighthouse tour, which only takes half an hour.

      The first batch of highlights that are part of the 2026 island expansion include:

      Daily Wellness & Sports Programmes

      The daily, expert-led wellness and sports programmes are among the stand-out additions. These scheduled activities are designed to evoke an authentic wellness-focused beach retreat experience. The curated collection of exercises include sunrise yoga, functional training sessions and more.

      Educational Treasure Hunt

      The Augmented Reality (AR) treasure hunt caters to guests of all ages. This immersive experience takes guests on a digital adventure using their smart devices. Through an installed app, you’ll navigate treasure hunt points backed by simulated storytelling. Each location highlights specific ecological issues and the countermeasures taken to address it. 

      Lego Pop-Up Activation

      At the Welcome Pavillion, guests are greeted by a vibrant LEGO pop-up activation. Seven life-sized characters and MSC's own mascot, Doremi, receive guests warmly upon arrival.



      The entertainment opportunities are only the beginning of the many great things on the island. Here are some of the new upgrades expanding the breadth of experiences in 2027, among many others: 

      New Culinary Concepts

      Four new culinary concepts are joining the already-amazing line-up of onshore dining. Alongside new buffets and food markets, a speciality restaurant is launching soon.

      Expanded Seakers Cove

      Seakers Cove is debuting new amenities for the ultimate family entertainment experience. Highlights include a kids' playground, splash pad and ropes course with water features. Indoor table games like ping-pong and foosball are also part of the fresh experiences. Plus, a variety of tournaments, games and activities are coming for non-stop family fun.

      Elevated Paradise Sands

      Another beach area to be dramatically enhanced is Paradise Sands, located next to the spa. The soft stretch will emerge with an adults-only retreat. This creates a serene spot for soaking in sunshine by day and chilling with a glass of cocktail at night.

      And More…

      Ocean Cay is receiving more significant updates to further enhance guest experience. Starting in late 2027, two ships can simultaneously dock in the extended pier. The island will also see an increased number of lavish cabanas, striking the balance between choice and comfort. Plus, a new immersive marine conservation experience is in the works.

      MSC Cruises' unveils its latest, ultra-exclusive island destination in the Caribbean. Set for a 2028 launch, Sandy Cay offers a more secluded and dramatically evolved island experience. Select Caribbean itineraries with Explora Journeys also allow guests to visit this exclusive island in 6-star luxury.

      This paradise is a separate destination, distinguishing itself as the more intimate haven. It will emulate the exceptional sense of exclusivity and marine reserve designation of Ocean Cay. Guests can expect nature-focused experiences and fewer crowds than her neighbouring sister island.

      When is the best time to visit the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve?

      Ocean Cay is an incredible year-round destination. The best time would be between December and April, perfect for winter sunshine. Expect warm temperatures – with highs that can peak at 26°C in December, gradually rising to 28°C in April.

      Is Wi-Fi available on the island?

      Yes! Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve is the perfect escape to unplug and reconnect with nature. However, the island also recognises internet access as part of our everyday lives now. The private getaway offers internet packages. 

      You can purchase it on the official website before your cruise or on board the ship. If you have already bought an onboard WiFi package, you can conveniently use it on the island as well.

      Are overnight stays and late-night departures available?

      Yes, guests can enjoy an extended stay at Ocean Cay. Select sailings include overnight stays, as well as late-night departures between 9pm and 12am. MSC Seashore, MSC Seaside, MSC Divina and MSC Magnifica are the ships that can stay overnight on the island. 

      During an overnight port call, you can enjoy evening entertainment like stargazing and the signature lighthouse light show, before returning to the ship to sleep.
