Cruise News: Introducing the Five New Cruise Ships, Ready for 2026 Cruises

Meet the New Ships Coming in 2026!

Published on 13th January 2026

New experiences await on the horizon with an exciting line-up of next-generation ships, set to make new waves at sea in 2026. The cruise industry’s largest brands, including Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, and MSC Cruises, as well as the luxury cruise lines like Explora Journeys and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, are all gearing up to debut their own all-new, cutting-edge vessels this year. Featuring innovative spaces and the finest amenities, every ship is curated to deliver elevated experiences on board. Meet the five new cruise ships soon to enter the World of Cruising, ready to make 2026 cruises more spectacular than ever…

Norwegian Cruise Line – Norwegian Luna

On top of the list is Norwegian Luna, the second ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Prima Plus Class, following the recently debuted Norwegian Aqua. This majestic ship is inspired by the relationship between the moon and tides of the ocean, beautifully adorned with a celestial-themed hull art from renowned street artist ELLE. Luna is scheduled to grace the high seas in spring 2026, with year-round Caribbean cruises sailing from Miami, Florida – the official Cruise Capital of the World!

At 1,056 feet and 156,300 gross tons, Norwegian Luna boasts a 10 percent increase in size and capacity from her predecessors, Norwegian Viva and Norwegian Prima, accommodating around 3,550 guests at double occupancy. She will also feature Aqua’s brand-exclusive highlights including: the Three-Bedroom Duplex Suites at The Haven, the immersive digital Glow Court, and the adults-only Vibe Beach Club, and Aqua Slidecoaster – the first-ever hybrid roller coaster and water slide at sea.

Royal Caribbean International – Legend of the Seas

Royal Caribbean cruises 2026 are expected to be legendary aboard the most recent addition to its award-winning fleet, Legend of the Seas. This game-changing legend is the third Icon-class vessel in the making, built on the success of her ground-breaking sister ships, Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas. She will boast a sophisticated bow-to-stern design and unlimited ways to chill and thrill across the eight distinct themed districts, championing Royal Caribbean International’s commitment to deliver unforgettable holidays.

Where adventure meets relaxation, Legend of the Seas is emerging with a mix of guest-first, bold experiences and reimagined fleet favourites. Among the stand-out features are the largest waterpark at sea, deck-defying entertainment, and record-breaking 28 culinary choices. The LNG-fueled ship is making her inaugural season with summer cruises to the Western Mediterranean followed by idyllic Caribbean escapes with a bucket-list chance to visit the exclusive island paradise Perfect Day at Cococay.

Explora Journeys – Explora III

Arriving in summer 2026, Explora III is the newest floating sanctuary of Explora Journeys. This innovative LNG-powered ship – the first-ever in the fleet – is slated to enter service navigating the dramatic coastlines of Northern Europe. From world-class dining and vibrant bars and lounges to ocean-inspired wellness and ocean-front suites, every moment on board is tailored to inspire and indulge.

Curated to evoke the feeling of being on board a private yacht, Explora III embodies effortless elegance and unrivalled space. She is expected to raise the bar with slightly larger space than Explora I and Explora II, boasting the highest ratios of total public space per guest and expanded outdoor public areas. Committed to helping guests achieve the ‘Ocean State of Mind,’ this latest evolution of the Explora ships is designed to awaken a sense of space and ease – combining home-like comforts, unmatched exclusivity, and seamless connection to the blue seas and every breath-taking sight on the horizon!

Regent Seven Seas Cruises – Seven Seas Prestige

The Seven Seas Prestige is set to join The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet® in December 2026. As the flagship vessel in Regent Seven Seas’ first ship class in a decade, Prestige will continue the legacy of perfected luxury as seen on the Explorer Class ships, whilst also introducing a significant evolution of design and brand-first features to elevate guest experience in every possible way. Key highlights include: the glamorous Starlight Atrium, chic Galileo’s Bar, and the all-new Azure restaurant, which brings authentic Mediterranean flavours to sea!

On her maiden voyage, she will set sail from Barcelona, Spain on a transatlantic cruise to Miami, Florida. Aiming to provide an Unrivalled Space at Sea®, Prestige makes history with the launch of Skyview Regent Suite – the largest suite that the cruising industry has ever seen, spanning an immense size of 8,794 square feet! Carrying one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the cruise industry, complemented by grand spaces and elegant touches – Prestige truly lives up to its name!

As a testament to the brand’s dedication to celebrate the world’s continents and oceans, this newest vessel will subtly reflect the exotic culture, art and landscapes of Asia, capturing the essence of the authentic charm of the Orient!

This brand-new sanctuary at sea sets the standards to a greater high, with non-stop entertainment, expanded dining concepts, exceptional stays, and returning favourites that truly showcase the next-level art of cruising. Guests can look forward to The Clubhouse, an all-new retro entertainment venue, as well as the well-loved Luna Park, The Harbour, and World Theatre.
