Royal Caribbean International has officially welcomed their newest ship, Star of the Seas, aimed at redefining the future of vacations and delivering the world’s best-ever! This LNG-fueled vessel has recently been delivered to the facility after almost two years of construction, just in time for her much-awaited maiden voyage in August 2025.
Star of the Seas is the latest and second addition to the revolutionary Icon Class fleet, ushering in a new era of cruise holidays. Perfectly mirroring her game-changing sister ship Icon of the Seas, some of the iconic stand-out features on board are the largest waterpark and pool at sea, the biggest ice-skating arena in the fleet, the world’s largest kinetic art sculpture, and the first suspended infinity pool at sea!
Across the next-generation ship’s eight different districts lie larger-than-life thrills, unlimited ways to chill, deck-defying entertainment, plus an extensive choice of dining and drinking options…
The state-of-the-art AquaDome is a multi-level and multi-purpose neighbourhood that serves as a peaceful haven by day and transforms into a vibrant entertainment area at night. Crowning the ship with its futuristic design, this glass-and-steel structure is equipped with restaurants, bars and breath-taking ocean views at every turn – creating a serene sanctuary to soak in the morning calm. And as the sun goes down, the energy goes up at the AquaTheatre, which showcases daring superhuman stunt-filled performances paired with cutting-edge technology.
Adrenaline-pumping adventures await at Thrill Island, an action-packed neighbourhood home to Category 6 – the industry-leading waterpark with six record-breaking slides. Other rip-roaring experiences here include an exhilarating mix of skyway, ropes course and controlled free fall at 154 feet above the ocean at Crown’s Edge, and a vertical scramble to the ship’s highest vantage point at Adrenaline Peak. Alternatively, guests who opt for more laid-back activities will be delighted to try the FlowRider surf simulator and Lost Dunes’ mini golf.
Guests looking to simply relax and get a dose of sunshine can head to Chill Island, a sun-drenched multi-deck district featuring four pools, including Royal Bay, which is the largest pool at sea! This tranquil paradise also hosts the first swim-up bar in the fleet, Swim & Tonic, and the biggest The Lime and Coconut island bar, which also boasts the brand’s first-ever frozen cocktail bar.
Designed to cater to all ages, Star of the Seas will offer dedicated spaces for both adults and children. Surfside is a family-friendly spot for all-day play, dine and stay. Kids can frolic under the sun at Splashaway Bay and Baby Bay, whilst the grown-ups are unwinding at the nearby Water’s Edge. The Hideaway is another adults-only oasis, complete with the industry-first suspended infinity pool, a lively wraparound bar with DJ-spun beats, and a terrace with whirlpools overlooking dramatic ocean views!
Reimagined Icon-class favourites are also debuting on board the Star of the Seas, making it truly the next frontier of leisure and adventure! Set in the heart of the ship, the indoor Royal Promenade boasts sweeping ocean views, the brand's biggest and boldest ice arena, and the 45-foot-tall, 53-foot-wide Pearl – the world’s largest computer-driven kinetic artwork. Guests can reconnect with nature in the open-air Central Park featuring over 30,500 real plants and enjoy an elevated dining experience at the nostalgic Chicago-inspired Lincoln Park Supper Club, all before retreating to the Suite Neighborhood for indulgent and pleasurable stays!
For her inaugural sailing, Star of the Seas is scheduled to embark on a 7-night summer 2025 cruise from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, visiting some of the most sought-after islands in the Western Caribbean, including the brand’s exclusive island destination Perfect Day at Cococay in the Bahamas.
Following the debut of Star of the Seas this 2025, Royal Caribbean is set to launch the third highly-innovative LNG-powered ship joining the Icon-class fleet, Legend of the Seas, in 2026. The world-class cruise line further pushes the standard of cruise vacations to new heights with a line-up of new ultimate destinations, such as the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in The Bahamas in late 2025, Royal Beach Club Cozumel in 2026, Perfect Day Mexico in autumn 2027, and finally an exclusive beach destination the South Pacific in 2027.
